Pick out the items that you would like to gift to our charity partners and Add To Cart! then proceed to complete the payment process.

Step 3

Orders on our platform will be consolidated on a monthly basis. for example, All orders placed in November will be delivered during the first 5 days of December. Our suppliers will deliver the orders directly to our charity partners on a monthly basis.

Our charity partner will then distribute the items to their beneficiaries.

We work with our charity partners to find out exactly what their beneficiaries want and need. We will be collaborating with our listed charity partners. Do check in periodically to see our updated selection!

 
 

FAQs

 

Q: Why should I donate via Shop instead of donating in person?

A: Good question! Donating via Shop instead of in person serves two main purposes: Firstly, it allows us to make orders from suppliers in bulk, which reduces the item cost and this means that you can donate more for less. Secondly, in this current pandemic, we are trying to limit in-person interactions, especially since older people are more vulnerable to the virus. We appreciate the thought behind donating in person, but we wanted to provide a convenient and safe way for both you and our beneficiaries.


Q: How are the prices for the items set? 

A: Depending on how the items are being sourced, the prices for all items are set at

  1. Recommended Selling Prices (RSPs) direct from our suppliers, where available; or

  2. Cost price plus platform fees, transaction & operating costs; or

  3. Retail price plus platform fees, transaction & operating costs

Q: How do we know we are addressing real needs? 

A: At Shop by The Social Co, we work closely with our charity partners who have immeasurable experience on the ground and therefore have recommended exactly what their beneficiaries need. We are committed to keeping these conversations up-to-date so as to accurately represent these necessities.


Q: How are the items being delivered to beneficiaries? 

A: We work with our suppliers to fulfil the delivery to our charity partners. These partners are then able to distribute the items to those in need.


Q: How long will my order take to ship to beneficiaries? 

A: We send items to our beneficiaries in batches once every month. We will assess demand/orders and adjust accordingly, should it be necessary. This also allows us to order items in bulk, bring down delivery costs, thereby maximizing the impact of your donations.


Q: How can I be sure that the items I ordered are delivered to the people who need it?

A: We will send you a confirmation email once your items have been delivered to our charity partners.


Q: Is my purchase tax deductible?

A: Unfortunately, purchases from Shop by The Social Co. Are not Tax deductible.
